Vera Koo: How Competitive Shooting Saved My Life

Here is an excerpt from Vera’s blog, which explains how her involvement with shooting sports saved her life.

二十多年前，我曾掉入人生谷底。

我突遭巨變，這項外來的力量動搖了我的核心價值觀，我建立在特定原則之上的 信念因之全毀，建立在這些信念之上的世界也跟著垮了。

我當時感覺一股爆炸力當頭襲來，力道大到足以摧毀我和我周邊所有的人。幸而 射擊救了我，它給了我一個暫時的避難所，讓我在時間的洗禮下重新站穩人生、 療愈傷口。

我相信這項運動是上蒼給我的第二個機會，好讓我有一個更美麗的人生。祂已經 預先安根伏線，各種條件都已各就各位，使我足以應付要來的危機。

我的這場人生危機並未馬上就讓我深度介入比賽性射擊運動。我的射擊生涯其實 是在巨變發生幾年之前，從我在一所社區大學上槍械課程就已開始。我不想一直 對槍械一無所知，希望可以學會安全的使用槍械，好消除我對它的內心恐懼感。
