Vera Koo: How Competitive Shooting Saved My Life

Here is an excerpt from Vera’s blog, which explains how her involvement with shooting sports saved her life.

二十多年前，我曾掉入人生谷底。

我突遭巨变，这项外来的力量动摇了我的核心价值观，我建立在特定原则之上的 信念因之全毁，建立在这些信念之上的世界也跟着垮了。

我当时感觉一股爆炸力当头袭来，力道大到足以摧毁我和我周边所有的人。幸而 射击救了我，它给了我一个暂时的避难所，让我在时间的洗礼下重新站稳人生、 疗愈伤口。

我相信这项运动是上苍给我的第二个机会，好让我有一个更美丽的人生。祂已经 预先安根伏线，各种条件都已各就各位，使我足以应付要来的危机。

我的这场人生危机并未马上就让我深度介入比赛性射击运动。我的射击生涯其实 是在巨变发生几年之前，从我在一所社区大学上枪械课程就已开始。我不想一直 对枪械一无所知，希望可以学会安全的使用枪械，好消除我对它的内心恐惧感。
